In this episode of RTE Unplugged, host Brendan Mulholland is joined by Michael Lloyd, Founder of Honest Agile and creator of Dysfunction Mapping, to explore how teams can uncover the hidden patterns that quietly affect performance.
We are creatures of habit, and not all habits are helpful. Michael explains how Dysfunction Mapping helps teams look beyond symptoms and better understand the underlying dysfunctions in their system. By making patterns visible, teams can have better conversations, design small experiments and learn what actually creates improvement.
The conversation touches on visual mapping, psychological safety, systems thinking, Agile coaching and the risk of applying frameworks in a top-down or copy-paste way. Instead of simply implementing practices, Michael encourages teams to understand the real problem first and then pull in the tools and approaches that help solve it.
Michael Lloyd was interviewed by Brendan Mulholland during the RTE Summit 2024.
